Lomi -Lomi massage

Lomi-Lomi is the word used in Hawaii today to mean "Massage Therapist" or "Hawaiian Massage." Sometimes they reduce it to just - Lomi,  which  traditionally meant "to knead, to rub, or soothe; to work in and out, like the paws of a contented cat."

What is Lomi-Lomi Massage?

Well, I am not sure what the paws of a contented cat have to do with it but rest assured after a session with me you will feel like a contented cat, although it will be this kinky kitten that gets the cream!

The Lomi-Lomi massage technique is one of the oldest and most profound forms of massage and the word Lomi-Lomi means 'Massage Therapist' or simply 'Hawaiian Massage'

Lomi-Lomi is a unique healing massage derived from the ancient Polynesians and more specifically the master healers of Hawaii.

To understand what a Hawaiian Lomi-Lomi Massage is, you need to have an understanding of the Hawaiian philosophy called Huna and how the philosophies of Huna relate to bodywork and healing. A fundamental assumption of Huna is that everything seeks harmony and everything seeks love. When harmony is lacking the effect is pain, this can be felt physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually. Huna believes that illness is a state of tension, which leads to resistance and blocks energy movement. Hawaiian Lomi-Lomi Massage helps to release this tension and facilitate the road to healing. On a physical level, through Lomi-Lomi Massage, stress and tension are relieved, blood and lymph flow assisted and the elimination of wastes and toxins stimulated.
